Old habits die hard.
One of the things I really miss about being a student is grades. I always worked hard and I always did well, and from time to time I did something exceptional. So I looked forward to report cards and standardized test scores the way some people look forward to birthdays.
I am reminded of this now because when the dentist told me I was in the top 5% of patients, I thought to myself, “I was in the 98th percentile on the SATs”. In 1994.
Something something we all have our golden age.
Anyhoo. Cheers, internet!
